We’ve had people hold Sleep Outs in all sorts of venues, whether it's in your school hall, a local youth centre, or even just your back garden! We've provided some possibilities below.
Back garden
Perhaps one of the simplest places to host your Sleep Out would be your very own back garden! Why not set up a tent for the night and tell the neighbours what you’re raising money for.
Local town hall
Try contacting your local town hall to tell them about what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
Community or youth centre
There may be a community centre close to you that would let you hold a Sleep Out in one of their spaces, it's always worth contacting to find out.
Place of worship
Maybe you attend a place of worship that would be happy to host you for the night? This could be a great way to gather a group of people to Sleep Out with you.
School hall
A school hall would be a great place to hold a Sleep Out, especially if you’re organising it with your students. There would be lots of space for sleeping and on the night activities.
Place of work
What better challenge for you and your work colleagues than to spend the night in your place of work!
Important things to remember:
Get permission
if you want to hold your Sleep Out in a local venue, make sure to get permission from the property owners before you start
Stay safe
Safety is key when holding your own Sleep Out. Check out our health and safety guidance to make sure you're keeping yourself, and those around you safe!
Plan, prepare and provide
Whether you’re holding your sleep out as an individual, a group of friends or a school group, make sure to plan your Sleep Out in advance. Will you be doing activities on the night? Will you need to provide drinks or snacks? What if it suddenly starts raining, will you have somewhere you can take shelter? Preparation is key to making an impact and raising as much money as possible!
