Sara Cox attended the official opening of our new housing development in Peckham, South London, alongside our patron HRH The Prince of Wales.
BBC Radio 2’s drive-time presenter was there to support Centrepoint’s Independent Living Programme. Reuben House contains 33 brand new flats and is already home to young people aged between 18 -24 in various jobs, including hospitality, the building trade and social services.
Sara has been an ambassador for Centrepoint since 2000, making her one of our longest serving celebrity supporters. She has previously taken part in our Sleep Out, sleeping outside in a London location with around 800 other fundraisers.
Residents also have access to support to plan and prepare to live independently in the future, whether that’s private sector rental or home ownership, helping to end the cycle of homelessness that too many young people find themselves in.
