On a chilly December afternoon, BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough joined our wonderful Centrepoint staff to learn about the vital work they’re doing in Manchester.
Working with our team, Dean helped put together care packages which will be handed out to the young people we support over the next few months.
The care packages include winter essentials such as toiletries, hats, gloves and scarves that will make a huge difference to young people experiencing and struggling with homelessness this season.
Commenting on his visit, the Radio 1 star said: “Knowing that thousands of young people could face homelessness this winter is really shocking to hear and reinforces why it’s so important to support charities like Centrepoint, who do incredible work with young people facing homelessness across the city. The care packages I have helped with today are a small but important act of kindness towards the young people it supports.”
Operations Manager, Vanda, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome Dean to the Oldham Street service and talk to him about the vital work we do in Manchester to support young people facing homelessness. Unfortunately, our service is needed more than ever and care packages form part of the support we provide, especially during the colder months."
We couldn’t offer our care packages without your donations. £50 could pay for a fresh set of clothes, shampoo, a toothbrush, and a clean towel. Make a donation today to help end youth homelessness.
