American Friends of Centrepoint is Centrepoint’s US-based registered charity, established to connect US supporters with Centrepoint’s work to end youth homelessness in the UK.
American Friends of Centrepoint brings together leaders in philanthropy, business, government and the charitable sector to support Centrepoint’s work, share evidence and build partnerships that can accelerate progress on youth homelessness.
This November, American Friends of Centrepoint is bringing leaders together in New York to convene the Collaborative on Ending Youth Homelessness - a new transatlantic platform for sharing ideas, encouraging innovation and turning collective action into progress.
Why Independent Living?
Independent Living is a stepping stone to independence.
Young people leaving homelessness move into high-quality, self-contained homes where they can live independently for two to five years while working, saving and building the skills and stability they need for their next home.
The model brings together a home, employment and practical support — tackling the barriers that can leave young people trapped between supported accommodation and unaffordable private rental.

Help us scale a proven model
Centrepoint is working to create 300 Independent Living homes across London and Manchester.
50 homes have already been delivered, with many more in development.
Each studio costs around £150,000 to develop and can support multiple young people over its lifetime.
