A day in the life of Centrepoint’s Rough Sleepers Initiative Team

Thanks to your generosity, our Homelessness Prevention & Relief Service supports around 2,000 young people who are at risk of homelessness in Manchester.

Sadly, youth homelessness runs even deeper than having to spend nights without safe shelter. Complex mental and physical health needs, gang crime, and a lack of access to education are just some of the barriers that young people we support are facing.

Our team offers immediate warmth, food and sanitation, alongside mental health, employment and housing support for homeless young people in Manchester. Thank you for making this possible.

Recently, our Rough Sleepers Initiative team filmed a day in the life video to show some of the life-changing support they provide for vulnerable young people in Manchester every day.

Clove, our Rough Sleepers Initiative Coordinator explains: “Every young person rough sleeping this winter faces more risk of death. It’s important to us, together with other Manchester services, to find these young people and bring them in somewhere safe.”

“We go from seeing young people on the streets into safe accommodation. We’re working with them until they have a home, until they have a job, until they have support networks and they know they that they’re the same as every single person in the world and they deserve to be safe, happy and respected.”
