Mr B: I don’t expect anything but to raise my potential

Mr B, 20, came to the UK from Sudan in 2024 and was moved to Manchester shortly after he arrived. However after getting his refugee status he was evicted from his hotel and began rough sleeping. He reached out to Centrepoint for support and who helped him to get stable accommodation. He is now starting a new job and thinking about his future.

Kyla's story: The bad times will pass

Kyla sought help from Centrepoint in 2018 when she was at breaking point after her baby son was adopted. The team in Manchester supported her with drug and alcohol counselling, mental health support and securing housing and benefits. Four years later, Kyla is in her own home, in the second year of university and teetotal. Here is her story in her own words.
