TV superstar Vicky Pattison and Great British Bake Off extraordinaire Kim-Joy visited the young people in our hostels this Christmas to share the festive spirit.
Centrepoint ambassador Vicky visited our young parent’s hostel in Sunderland and brought an extremely generous amount of presents for the young parents and children who welcomed her kind spirit with open arms.
This wasn’t the first time the TV star, podcaster and author, who also won ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’, has supported Centrepoint – she also hosted STAY:UP earlier this year and slept out In Sunderland in 2017.
2018 Great British Bake Off finalist, Kim-Joy, visited one of Centrepoint’s services in Bradford to meet young people and staff in the run up to the festivities. The bestselling cookbook author led a session with five young people, challenging them to make their best “signature bake” mince pies, which they later enjoyed with a cup of hot chocolate. Since appearing on the BBC show, Kim-Joy has opened up about her struggles with anxiety and mental health, something which affects so many of the young people Centrepoint supports.
Kim-Joy and Vicky’s visits form part of Centrepoint’s wider Christmas celebrations, to tackle the loneliness and isolation homeless young people often feel during the Christmas period. Thank you Vicky and Kim-Joy for joining in with our festivities and making this Christmas one to remember!
