In October, Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis hosted a private screening of Universal Pictures’ film, Anemone, in support of Centrepoint.
Daniel Day-Lewis has received numerous accolades throughout his acting career, appearing in films such as Phantom Thread, Lincoln, and There Will be Blood.
He is also long-standing supporter of the charity and even made a very generous donation to Centrepoint earlier in the year, which has already made a huge impact on the lives of the young people we support.
On Monday 20th October, Daniel invited staff, donors and young people to an exclusive screening of Anemone, which is the directorial debut of Daniel’s son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who co-wrote the film with his father.
A fiercely emotional and disquieting family drama with a gripping mystery at its centre, Anemone explores legacies of violence and the complex and profound ties that exist between fathers, sons and brothers.
Actors Sean Bean and Samantha Morton also star alongside Daniel Day-Lewis, who hasn’t appeared in a film in 8 years. Anemone will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 7th November.
The screening was then followed by a Q&A session with BBC film critic Ali Plumb to complete a truly special evening at the SOHO Hotel.
Thank you, Daniel, for your continued support and for hosting this incredible event for Centrepoint!
