A YOUNG PERSON'S JOURNEY THROUGH THE SYSTEM

Young people who approach their local authority for help should be given support to prevent or relieve their homelessness. This might include support to access housing, mediation to rebuild family relationships or financial assistance.

Making homeless young people count

Our research estimates 110,000 young people asked for help from their local council in 2017/18 because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is the only estimate of its kind, and we hope it will help to promote better supported living for young people.
