The Independent Living programme is only possible thanks to the dedication of our hardworking staff, who want to see young people thrive. Get to know them a little better here.

 

Steve Dumbrell Head of Independent Living

Likes: Football, running and dog walking
Dislikes: Country music, blue jeans and slow walkers


Steve has been working in the social housing sector for over 25 years. Past experience of working for local authorities and housing associations in some of the most deprived areas of the country has given him a passion for transformational change and creating opportunities to change lives.

Suzanne Kay Housing Manager London

Likes: Real coffee, books and the beauty of oceans
Dislikes: Moaners, traffic jams and junk food

Suzanne leads our small London housing operations team. She takes responsibility for ensuring that our IL properties are safe and comfortable places to live. Suzanne has nearly 20 years’ experience in housing management with several housing associations and local councils. Her goal is ensuring our residents can make their IL flat a home.

Ella Munns Independent Living Programme Manager

Likes: Monkeys, yoga and 90s grunge music
Dislikes: Spiders, chillis and flip flops


Ella’s main focus is managing relationships with delivery partners, increasing referrals and growing the reach of the service. With a background in learning and development, Ella believes that every day is a learning day!

Janet Alder Housing Officer (London)

Likes: Marmite and peanut butter together, horror films
Dislikes: Prawns


Janet has worked with young people within the supported housing sector for over 15 years. She uses this experience to support young people move toward complete independence.

Babs Smith Housing Officer (London)

Likes: Swimming, laughing and Diet Pepsi
Dislikes: Marmite, tea and noise


Babs is an experienced Housing Officer who has worked within the housing sector for more than 20 years, in a number of departments. Her main focus is supporting young people as they discover the realities of responsibility on their journey towards living independently.

Bodrul Alom Housing Officer (London)

Likes: Liverpool FC, snooker and horror movies
Dislikes: Man United, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid (and Man U again)


I have gained considerable experience in helping tenants manage their tenancies and achieve a positive move on. I have a special interest in advising people on how to get on to the property ladder and find out what government help is out there for first time buyers.
