Looking for volunteering opportunities near you? Join the incredible group who donate their time, skills and passion to help change homeless young people’s lives.
Last year, our volunteers gave more than 22,000 hours of their time to Centrepoint Without our volunteers, we couldn’t have such a positive impact on homeless young people’s lives. This has continued even through the COVID-19 pandemic, during which we have adapted and developed innovative roles.
Our volunteers support young people’s career ambitions, engage them with our services and programmes, help them into accommodation or just give them that little extra nudge to trying something new.
You can also support a young person towards a specific goal or ambition.
Our one-to-one volunteering and coaching include helping young people better manage their finances, study towards a qualification or helping us to build their emotional resilience or support them into independence.
Meet some of the amazing people who donate their time to support homeless young people. The Centrepoint Helpline is a new national service which provides information and advice to under 25s who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
“I have been volunteering for Centrepoint for four years and have been supporting Angeline ever since then, which has been a very rewarding experience for me. I met Angeline soon after she was housed by Centrepoint.
"At the time, she was nervous about going out alone and meeting with others. I met with her for an hour or so a few times a month to talk and listen and have a hot chocolate in a local café. I worked alongside her key workers to support her when she enrolled on a college course and subsequently began to attend the Centrepoint Works sessions. Through our sessions, we have been lucky enough to visit local beauty spots, which we both enjoy!”
“I also learnt from her about her views of the world as a young person and found our conversations together both interesting and insightful.
“I have found working alongside the Centrepoint teams both rewarding and fun. Their tireless enthusiasm and commitment to young people has been very inspiring.”
There are so many volunteer roles at Centrepoint that help strengthen all parts of the organisation.
