Following a family breakdown, at just 18, Kyle ended up on the streets. He battled street homelessness and substance misuse for 6 years.
Clove, Centrepoint's Rough Sleeping Coordinator, was one of the first people Kyle had contact with a Centrepoint. She provided him with an initial assessment and maintained contact with him during her outreach work. Clove spent some time building trust up with Kyle, and after months he eventually took her support. This led to Kyle being referred to Centrepoint's Complex Case worked, Amy, who supported him with his mental health and substance misuse.
With continuous support from Centrepoint, Kyle was able to maintain stable accommodation and has secured work in the construction industry. Without Centrepoint's support, Kyle believes he wouldn't be where he is now:
"I'm really excited about getting back into work. Working again has made me feel really motivated and excited about doing things again. Centrepoint have helped me with so much. They've been amazing. I couldn't ask for anything else. They have been like family to me."
