Every four minutes another young person faces homelessness.

Thousands of young people like Ben will be facing homelessness alone this winter. No young person should be left struggling on freezing streets - and you can help right now by sponsoring a room at Centrepoint.

Your kindness could give a young person, like Ben, a stable home - often for the first time in their life, and be the turning point they need to get back on their feet.

Instead of worrying about what to eat or where to sleep, they can start putting their lives back together, safe in the knowledge that we'll be there for as long as they need us.

Ben in his room at Centrepoint

Ben's Story

You may remember reading about Ben. At 16, Ben was struggling with his mental health and moved to supported housing.

As Ben was so young, this wasn't suitable for him. He recalls, "There were 25 year-olds asking me for money to buy drugs. At that age you're vulnerable to people who are older, you look up to them."

Ben's mental health deteriorated and he was hospitalised for six months, when he was discharged, his hospital care co-ordinator referred him to Centrepoint. We were able to give Ben safety and support to get back on his feet. With the care of our team and a place he could call his own, a room where he felt safe, he was able to rebuild his confidence, learn vital life skills, and take his first steps towards a brighter future.

Ben is now studying music production, and last winter, he performed to over 200 people.
