Volunteering opportunities at Centrepoint range from 1:1 support for young people to organisational support. 

Every volunteer role has a significant impact on our vision of ending youth homelessness.

Current opportunities

Social Media Volunteer

Location: Aldgate, London

Time commitment:

  • One weekday per week, preferably Wednesdays but can be flexible according to your availability.
  • Whilst we do require the successful candidate to come into the office occasionally, the role can be also be home-based or a hybrid of office/home

Gardener

Location: Quarry View, Barnsley

Time commitment:

  • 4 hours per week (1 day or split over 2 days), Monday - Friday only

Gym Volunteer

Location: Bradford Training Centre, Bradford

Time commitment:

  • 2 hours per week (times and days negotiable, more hours if possible)
  • Monday – Friday only

Closing date: Wednesday 31 July 2024

Breakfast Club Volunteer

Location: Bradford Training Centre, Bradford

Time commitment:

  • 8 hours per week (opportunity to split hours among two individuals) 
  • Monday – Thursday only from 8am – 10am

Gardener

Location: Bradford Training Centre, Bradford

Time commitment:

  • 3 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday only

Receptionist

Location: Bradford

Time commitment:

  • Between Monday – Friday, 1pm – 5pm
  • The role is flexible in that one volunteer does not need to cover all shifts

Food Donation Courier

Location: Hammersmith & Fulham

Time commitment:

  • 1-2 hours, once per week, afternoon only

Volunteer JET Coach (Jobs, Education, Training) - Bradford

Location: Bradford

Time commitment:

  • Flexible to meet the needs of young people, availability for one day per week minimum

Speculative applications

Occasionally, we do accept speculative applications depending on your skills and interest. Please fill in our application form and select "Other" in the "What role are you applying for?" field. Then give us some more information about your skills and experience and we'll get back to you if we have a suitable role.

Things to consider when applying

We ask you for a minimum of six months commitment. This is so that we can ensure consistency with young people which helps to establish supportive and trusting relationships – something we believe is essential to our work at Centrepoint.

  1. Apply to be a volunteer
  2. Attend interview or selection evening
  3. DBS clearance and reference checks
  4. Training 1: About Centrepoint and the issue of youth homelessness
  5. Training 2: Skills for volunteering with young people at Centrepoint
  6. Second interview
  7. Induction with supervisor
