Our new partnership with Omaze unlocks independence for young people

Centrepoint’s exciting partnership with Omaze will support more young people to move from homelessness to independence. The Lake District House Draw, backed by ambassadors Kelly and Sharon Osbourne, will raise vital funds for Centrepoint.

We support over 15,000 young people each year with safe housing, consistent one-one support, and access to counselling, education and employment opportunities. For those ready for independence, Centrepoint’s Independent Living Programme  gives them the support they need to move forward. This innovative programme is just one of our solutions to ending the crisis of youth homelessness.

A guaranteed £1 million donation from the Omaze Lake District House Draw will help fund seven independent living homes, supporting up to 160 young people on their journey to independence.

With rent capped at one-third of their income, these purpose-built, affordable homes give young people a place to call their home for two to five years. This provides the stability they need to work, save money and shape their future – breaking the cycle of homelessness.

“It feels incredible to have the opportunity to work with Omaze. The money we’re raising is going to be life-changing for young people, supporting independence as they move on from homelessness.

The impact of building new homes will be far-reaching. These genuinely affordable homes are designed for young people who are ready to stand on their own two feet but are being priced out of the housing market. This support gives young people the chance to move forward with confidence.”

Seyi Obakin OBE, Chief Executive of Centrepoint said:

“Youth homelessness is devastating but not inevitable. At Centrepoint, we make sure young people are never left to face it alone, supporting them from those first moments of crisis through to the point they are ready to move into a home of their own.
That is why we are so excited to partner with Omaze. The guaranteed £1 million donation will help us reach more young people who urgently need support. Allowing us to build genuinely affordable homes for those ready to move forward. Together, we can help transform young people’s lives and take meaningful steps towards ending youth homelessness for good.”

We aim to create 300 independent living homes by 2027, proving the model works and inspiring local authorities and housing providers to scale it nationwide. Together with Omaze we’re opening the door to safe, affordable homes where young people can truly thrive.

We’re breaking the cycle of youth homelessness and driving the systemic change needed to end youth homelessness by 2037.
