How to organise a quiz night

Taking care of quizness - put your thinking caps on, have a laugh with friends and raise money for a great cause.

Choose a date and time

Planning a quiz night usually takes about a month so make sure you leave yourself enough time! Evenings are best and it can take 2 or 3 hours to get through the quiz, including a break in the middle.

Find a venue

Ask your local pub if they’d be willing to let you hire their upstairs room for the night, they may even donate a bottle of wine to the winning team if you let them know it’s for charity!

Entry fee

Charge £5 or £10 for entry and donate the proceeds to Centrepoint.

Quiz questions

Most quizzes have about 5 rounds with 10 questions each; general knowledge, geography, music and sport are all classics. You could even include a personal round to see how well the guests know you! Or picture rounds are always good fun too.

Prizes

Ask local businesses if they’d be happy to donate some prizes for charity, you could also ask your friends if they have anything they’d like to give away. Give the prizes to the winning team and the runners up. You could even host a raffle at the end to raise some more money if you manage to secure enough prizes!
