Thousands of people own small amounts of shares they’re not sure what to do with, often from an inheritance or company privatisation. You may not have thought to do anything with them, in case it resulted in more paperwork than income! Centrepoint accepts any donation of shares, whatever the size.
That’s what Centrepoint does; they try to meet you half way. If anything they meet you three quarters of the way.
Your unwanted shares can give homeless young people a future.
Thousands of people own small amounts of shares they’re not sure what to do with, for reasons such as an inheritance or company privatisation. You may not have thought to do anything with them, for fear of generating more paperwork than income.
Centrepoint accepts any donation of shares, whatever the size.
There are three simple steps to donating shares:
1. Transfer the gift of shares to Centrepoint
2. Keep evidence of the gift, the date it was made and Centrepoint's acceptance
3. Claim the appropriate tax relief
Please be aware that if you receive any benefit as a result of making the gift of shares, this will reduce your tax relief. Speak to your accountant or a broker, or contact us on 0800 23 23 20 to organise a transfer.
A pledge of just £12 a month will sponsor a room at Centrepoint, helping homeless young people to achieve independent, fulfilling lives.
