About the role
Description
Centrepoint’s social media channels are a vital way for us to engage with our audiences – from supporters and policymakers to young people and campaigners. We aim to spread knowledge around youth homelessness, build connections with people to create a movement, and trigger action so that we’re all working together to achieve our mission of ending youth homelessness by 2037.
As a social media volunteer, you will be supporting our social media function and helping to create content for our 160,000+ followers. This will be a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in social media and content creation.
Summary
- Supporting with content creation for our organic social media channels: We currently use Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn to engage our audiences and are looking for someone to support with new content creation for these channels
- Helping to develop a content bank: Helping to develop an evergreen content bank that utilises best practice, content insights, and brand tone of voice for various channels and audiences
- Reviewing the social media landscape: Staying up to date with latest social media trends, platform updates and activity from across the charity sector
- Assisting with creative idea generation: Attending content creation working group meetings for our core content pillars and bringing innovative ideas to discuss and explore
We really want to harness the existing skillsets and passion from anyone we work with, so we’re willing to make this volunteer role flexible to the interest areas of the person we’re lucky to work with. Other tasks we have include:
- Advising on different ways to connect, inspire and engage audiences
- Assist with editing copy, checking for any grammatical and/or spelling errors
- Keeping up to date with Centrepoint’s research and campaigns, and suggesting ways to promote this across our different channels
