The Street Football Association

The Street Football Association uses street football to transform the lives of people who've experienced homelessness and social exclusion.

We became part of Centrepoint in 2014.

Working with professional football clubs, we give men and women the inspirational opportunity to represent their country or a top team.

We run a specially designed programme of street football and life skills coaching

We inspire our players to build their confidence both on and off the pitch. Our programmes provide unique experiences and opportunities, regardless of a player's football ability. The emphasis is on personal development, supporting players to positively transform their own situation. We partner with both the Homeless World Cup and Street Child World Cup.

The European Street Football Festival 2016

Between 13 and 17 November 2016 we ran England's largest ever street football festival. We worked with 100 amazing players from ten nations over the week, all of whom have experienced homelessness or social exclusion. With support from Erasmus Plus, The Homeless World Cup, Hotel Football and The National Football Museum - our biggest event to date was a huge success. The players, our international colleagues and our partners all did themselves proud.

What is street football?

Street football is a fast-paced, four-a-side version of association football, with games lasting 14 minutes each. It's played on a small pitch with barriers along the edge. We use it because it's easy to learn for players with different amounts of football experience and exciting to watch and play; with the rules favouring whichever team is attacking.

Our ambassador Fara Williams

The England and Arsenal Ladies star experienced homelessness herself early in her professional career. As the most capped player in the history of English football, Fara is an inspiration to our players. She not only provides the perfect example of how high they can aim but also contributes to coaching and mentoring players at events like the Homeless World Cup.

Transforming lives

The Street Football association is part of Centrepoint - together, we have helped thousands of people to positively transform their lives and leave homelessness behind for good. We couldn't do this without your support. Please donate today to help us continue our vital work.
