HELP A HOMELESS YOUNG PERSON LIKE ZINNIA

Aged five, Zinnia’s mum kicked her and her dad out. Aged nine, Zinnia was placed into foster care. After the birth of her child, Zinnia became homeless.

But after coming to Centrepoint, Zinnia received emotional support for her mental health and help with life skills to get her back on track. Now she's thriving in her own home and has her dream job as a painter and decorator.

YOUR DONATION AND OUR FINANCES

We don't take your donation for granted – it's too important. We support more than 10,000 vulnerable young adults a year, but we know thousands more homeless young people need better support services. 103,000 young people asked their local council for help with homelessness in 2017/18.

Ben - Centrepoint Resident

I hadn’t got it into my head that I was homeless. It can diminish your mental and emotional health, you can feel it happening, and stress can be the cause of lots of physical ailments in life.

Your donation could start a future

Your donations help us provide a warm, safe space with access to counselling and practical advice. We help young people rebuild their confidence and give them the practical skills they need to secure a job. We also teach young people basic life skills like cooking and managing their money – helping them to move on and lead independent lives.

Health Team Challenges

Centrepoint's Clinical Lead, Stamatia Lorentzou, tells us about how our Health team support homeless young people and some of the challenges they face.

What we do

Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. Together with our partners, we support more than 10,000 homeless young people each year. We provide accommodation, mental health support and life skills to get vulnerable young people back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness in the UK.

We use models and change the names of the young people we work with to protect their identity, however, all stories are true and as told by the young person.
