Centrepoint’s Big Broth competition

Centrepoint’s Big Broth competition

When you hear the word soup, what do you think of?

  • Your mum’s homemade speciality?
  • Cold winter months with a warm fire and crusty bread?
  • Soup kitchens and homeless people?

We’re on the hunt to find the UK’s best homemade soup. In collaboration with Waitrose and Yorkshire Provender, you could have your very own recipe produced and distributed in Waitrose stores around the UK. And for every pot of Centrepoint’s Big Broth sold, a donation will be made to Centrepoint.

The Big Broth is backed by award-winning Italian chef Aldo Zilli. One of the reasons Aldo became a chef was 'out of hunger.' Leaving Italy as a teenager, Aldo spent a month homeless in Germany, unable to find a job or a place to live.

"Having experienced homelessness myself, I want to help those young people who find themselves homeless," says Aldo.

Submit your recipe here.

Waitrose, Centrepoint and Yorkshire Provender will then select their five favourite soups. A cook-off will then be held between the five finalists at the Waitrose Cookery School with a panel of celebrity chefs deciding the final winner.

The winning soup will be on Waitrose shelves this autumn! The closing date for entries is 29 March 2018 so don’t miss out – enter your recipe now.
