Faced with impossible choices, young people's lives are on the line every day.
But one call to The Centrepoint Helpline can stop a young person spiralling into homelessness.
Every day hundreds of young people who have nowhere to stay call our Helpline. Listen to some of the calls that have come through to our Helpline and hear how our operators provide help and support to young people.
We'll answer their call, investigate their issue, and follow up with solutions to avoid homelessness.
We desperately need to increase our Helpline team from five to seven so we can answer more calls.
Three months pregnant with nowhere to stay, Anna was overcome by a sense of dread. Where would she spend the next night? What would happen when her baby arrived? Her voice was full of despair as she told us her story.
But within an hour, our Helpline staff found her a safe place to stay at a local hostel. Not only had we given her a bed for the night, we also helped her find the path to a safer future. It was a turning point in Anna's life.
The Centrepoint Helpline is so important because we offer young people information, advice and support when they need it the most. We help them access the support they're entitled to. As the only helpline dedicated to young people at risk of homelessness, we play a key role in homeless prevention.
